Q. Who can use Yak On the Go service?
A.Any postpaid Fido wireless subscriber that has selected Toronto (with wireless phone numbers beginning with 416/647) as their calling zone can take advantage of Yak's great rates by dialing direct with Yak On the Go.

Q. I want to switch from Fido. Does Yak offer a full service cellular program?
A.Yak does not currently have a full service cellular offering, but we have confirmed our intention to participate in Canada’s upcoming wireless auction and we look forward to the possibility of becoming a no contract, no gimmick, affordable cellular provider in the Canadian market. Q. When can I dial direct?
A.Yak On the Go service is available only when Fido subscribers originate calls from within the boundaries of the Toronto calling zone (below) at this time.

Q. What if I'm outside my Fido calling zone?
A.Once you leave your Fido calling zone, you can continue to save using Yak Long Distance for your cell, which you're automatically able to use if you've subscribed to Yak On the Go. Click here for more.

Q. When I'm dialing directly, how can I be sure that my long distance call is going through Yak?
A. When you place a long distance call from within your Toronto Fido calling zone, you'll hear a quick message saying that Yak is connecting your call, that way you're always certain how your long distance calls is being routed. If you don't hear a message, you will be billed on your regular Fido wireless bill at applicable Fido rates. -

Q. Do I incur additional charges to use this service?
A.Subscribers to the Yak On the Go plan will still have to pay airtime charges applicable through their respective Fido wireless plan. All charges for long distance calls made within the Fido Toronto calling zone will be billed to your monthly yak bill rated at low per-minute yak rates. Roaming or long distance charges may be applicable to users that dial direct from outside the Fido Toronto calling zone. Listen for the Yak message to ensure that you are on the yak network. If you do not, you may be billed on your Fido wireless bill at current Fido long distance rates.

Q. Do I incur additional charges to use Yak On the Go from my Fido wireless phone if I am outside the Toronto calling zone?
A.You may pay for roaming or long distance charges by Fido for all originating calls outside of the Toronto calling zone.

Q. What if I'm not with Fido?
A.If you are not currently a Fido wireless subscriber, this direct dial service will not work from your cellular phone. You can still save on calls with Yak Long Distance for your cell. Click here for more.

A.Once active with Yak On the Go, you can dial your long distance call directly (starting with 1 or 011) from your Toronto Fido calling area and save.

Q. Will I be charged for long distance if I dial 1 in front of a local phone number?
A. No, if you are within your Fido Toronto calling zone and you dial 1 before a local phone number you will not be billed for the long distance on your Yak bill. -

Q. What happens after I sign up for Yak On the Go?
A.Once you've registered, it will take about 3 to 5 business days for your long distance to be switched to Yak. To confirm that you're with Yak, simply dial toll-free 1-700-555-4141 from the phone line you registered. If the message indicates Yak, your Yak On the Go account is now active.

Q. Are there any taxes or other government fees that I should know about?
A.Your Yak services are subject to both federal (GST) and provincial taxes (in those provinces where such taxes are applicable), with the exception of Yak High Speed Internet service, which is exempt from provincial tax. For more information on taxes or government, please contact our friendly Customer Service Department.

Q. How do you protect my payment information?
A. The information submitted on our web site is protected by the highest level of industry-standard SSL encryption. All of the credit card or chequing account information received by Yak is encrypted and stored on our secure billing servers. -

A. Yes, you'll always receive your invoice approximately 10 business days before any payments are processed.
