    Q. Will my cellular carrier charge me for the time used to place calls made through Yak Cell?
    A. Yes, airtime and roaming charges may be applied by your cellular provider for calls made through Yak Cell. You receive Yak Long Distance's great rates for the long distance portion of your calls. Click here for a complete list.

    Q. Does Yak Cell work with all cellular carriers?
    A. Yes. Because Yak Cell is an access number based service it's available with all Canadian cellular carriers.

    Q. Can I still use Yak Long Distance for my cell if I'm not in a local access number area?
    A.

    Yes. With Yak Long Distance for your cell's new Callback feature, you can take advantage of Yak's great rates from your cell phone no matter where in Canada you're located.  For more information on how to use Callback, click here.

    Q. I want to switch from my current cell carrier. Does Yak offer a full service cellular program?
    A. Yak does not currently have a full service cellular offering, but we have confirmed our intention to participate in Canada's upcoming wireless auction and we look forward to the possibility of becoming a no -contract, no-gimmick, affordable cellular provider in the Canadian market.

    Q. Is there any way I can take advantage of Yak's rates without dialing an access code?
    A. If you're a Toronto-based Fido wireless subscriber, you can take advantage of Yak Cell rates by dialing directly with Yak On the Go.  Currently availability of this service is limited to post-paid Fido subscribers in 416/647 area codes. Click here for more information.

    Q. Can I use Yak Long Distance for my cell when I'm in the United States?
    A. No. Unfortunately, Yak Cell is only currently available in Canada.  But we do offer Yak Travel Card - a calling card that allows you to make calls from Canada, the United States and 15 international destinations to anywhere in the world.     Q. Does my cellular carrier charge me for the time used to place Yak calls?
    A. Yes. Cellular airtime and roaming charges may be applied by your cellular provider. The long distance portions of your calls will be billed at Yak's great rates. For a complete list of Yak Cell, click here.

    Q. Are there any monthly fees associated with Yak Long Distance for your cell?
    A. There are no monthly fees if you choose to retrieve your invoice online.  There is an administrative fee of $1.95 if you choose to receive a paper invoice, although this fee is waived for customers over 65.

    Q. Are there minimum usage requirements to get these rates?
    A. No. You'll get Yak's great rates no matter how much you call.  Plus, if you're not happy, you can cancel service at any time.

    Q. What if I have call block on my cell phone?
    A. Some cell phones have a "settings" option to send or not to send its number when making a phone call - this function is usually referred to as "call block."  To use Yak Cell service, it is necessary that the "call block" function be disabled.  For details related to particular phone models and wireless networks, please consult your operational manual or wireless service provider's customer service.

    Q. How can I use speed dial to make things easy?
    A. You can always save your local access number in your speed dial and enter your long distance number at the tone. Even better, save the Access Number followed by the pause button and then program 011 and your international number for one touch dialing.

    Q. Will I ever get a busy signal when I call my Yak Cell Access Number?
    A. No, you will not get a busy signal when you call the Yak Cell Canadian local access numbers. We have a state-of-the-art digital switching system that will recognize your phone and automatically give you a dial tone whenever you call.     Q. Do I need to dial a secret code or a PIN to place a call?
    A. No, with Yak Cell there are no PINS to remember. We recognize our customers' cellular phones when they call the Access Number.

    Q. Is there a charge for receiving a paper invoice?
    A.

    Q. Are there any taxes or other government fees that I should know about?
    A.

    Your Yak services are subject to both federal (GST) and provincial taxes (in those provinces where such taxes are applicable), with the exception of Yak High Speed Internet service, which is exempt from provincial tax. For more information on taxes or government, please contact our friendly Customer Service Department.

    A. The information submitted on our web site is protected by the highest level of industry-standard SSL encryption. All of the credit card or chequing account information received by Yak is encrypted and stored on our secure billing servers.
